About the Role
Mat & Bow Recruitment Group is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a respected, independent veterinary practice in South London, seeking an experienced Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. This is a key clinical leadership role, ideal for a confident, highly skilled vet who enjoys mentoring, case continuity, and shaping clinical standards.
Working alongside a talented team, you’ll have the opportunity to take a leading role in practice development, clinical governance, and mentoring junior vets – all while maintaining a strong focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities

Lead complex medical and surgical cases, ensuring the highest clinical standards are met.

Support and mentor junior vets, nurses and students through case reviews and clinical coaching.

Champion gold-standard client care and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice.

Work with the practice leadership on clinical protocols, quality improvement, and CPD planning.

Take part in rota planning and clinical leadership discussions where needed.
What We’re Looking For

Minimum 8 years’ experience as a qualified small animal Veterinary Surgeon.

RCVS registration and eligibility to work in the UK.

Confident with complex diagnostics, soft tissue surgery, and/or orthopaedics (desired, not essential).

Certificate holder or working towards a certificate (strongly encouraged and supported).

Strong leadership qualities with a genuine interest in team development and mentorship.

Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and within the clinical team.
